Student drives will be held after school hours and on weekends.
The Teen Drivers Safety Education and Certification Course will teach students important topics such as:
- The Foundations of Safe Driving
- Defensive Driving Skills
- Sharing the roads with others
- Safe Driving Techniques
- Space Management System
- Reference Points
- Rules of the Road
- Adverse Driving Conditions and Emergencies
- Roadway Conditions
- Distracted Driving
- Effects of Fatigue and Emotions while driving
- State Drivers Test Preparation
Along with classroom theory and instruction, the students will participate in hands-on driving time with Safe2Go Driving School instructors. Students practice local road and highway driving, parking and other techniques essential to successful driving along with the skills required to pass the State dol driver’s test. If you feel you want to get additional behind-the-wheel training for any reason, simply call the office about the fee involved in Scheduling extra time.
Note: Pre-Register online through D.O.L License Express prior to taking the course if a waiver will be needed, you can do so online at Dol.wa.gov. If you already have a Washington State ID card or permit you can skip this step.
You will be given a PIC # (Personal Identification Code). Make sure you print this confirmation number or write this number down as it will be required before Safe2Go Driving School can issue waiver if needed. Make sure you bring this when you arrive, in addition to proof of I.D. If under the age of 18 a parent must be present.
To meet state requirements, Safe2Go Driving School's Driver Education Course includes:
- 30 hours in the classroom
- 5 hours behind-the-wheel
- 4 hours of road adherence practice (Special session held while in class)
- 1 hour in-car observation (More observation time is available at no additional charge)
