Mayra-Guerra Magana
Administrative Coordinator
Mayra is our administrative customer service representative. She has had many years in the administrative and customer service field prior to being with Safe2Go. She is accomplished in both English and Spanish her Bilingual skills have assisted staff and made many happy customers.
Mayra and her family (Husband and her 5 kids) are locals to Monroe. Mayra loves her community in which she devotes her time volunteering her services and is an avid supporter of Relay for Life. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, hiking, crafting, painting and spending time with family and friends.
Brian Coonan
DRIVING INSTRUCTOR/TRAINER/DOL STATE KNOWLEDGE EXAMINER
Brian is originally from Connecticut but has been a Washingtonian now for over 32 years. Brian has an MBA from Capella. His free time is spent with his family of 6 children and 4 grandchildren and enjoys working with our youth and teens as a soccer coach and referee for the last 30 years and as a safety driving instructor at Safe2Go driving school for the last 2 years. Brain’s personality is always a joy to be around. We are truly fortunate to have Brian with us.
Josh Shipman
DRIVING INSTRUCTOR/DOL STATE EXAMINER
Before coming to Safe2Go Driving school Josh worked at the Overlake school in Redmond district for approximately 5 years, he is also a veteran of 12 years and his experience there was as an Army Helicopter mechanic. Josh says the best thing about being a driving instructor is making a difference while teaching our teens of today something new, knowing what he teaches is helping them to stay safe on the roads.
He plays video games in his spare time and you can also find him in the kitchen baking.
Chris Walters
Administrative Coordinator
Chris is our front office face and our back-office support, she has been with us since the inception of Safe2Go driving school. Her experience and demeanor have been invaluable to all of us. She loves working with people and goes above and beyond to help our customers in any way she can.
Chris says she loves seeing all the happy faces of our students when they come in for their classes/drives and loves seeing them succeed.
In her spare time Chris shares her like of gaming with her husband and son online since he is living out of state. Chris's son's are to blame for her getting into gaming.
At the young age of 21 Chris started driving with a CDL class A license until she came to us.
Astrid Perez
DRIVING INSTRUCTOR/DOL STATE EXAMINER
Astrid has been teaching for over 20 years and has her degree from University of Washington doctor of philosophy. When she isn’t teaching she spends her time with family and loves to cook. She believes in health and fitness so enjoys her daily exercise routines and is very spiritual. She also enjoys portrait painting as a hobby when time allows. Astrid works mainly at our Everett/Mill Creek and Monroe High School locations.
Elysia Edwards
DRIVING INSTRUCTOR/TRAINER
Elysia has worked many years within the school district working with middle school students that has given her the insight to reach and help students with their learning style. She says she loves working with students and watching them blossom when they learn a new skill. She also has a very calm demeanor, and patience in the classroom and behind the wheel.
She loves being a mom, cooking, binge watching home improvement shows and loves all her four-legged fur babies!!
Sam Kuyper
DRIVING INSTRUCTOR/DOL STATE EXAMINER
Sam has been an educator for 16 years working with students of all ages. He spent 10 years in Japan as an English teacher and currently teaches Japanese at Redmond High School. Sam’s grandfather was a driving instructor and when Sam returned from Japan he decided to follow in his footsteps. He has been teaching driver’s education for 9 years and has been with Safe2Go since the inception of the school itself. He enjoys working with teen drivers, teaching them all of the skills they need to be safe on the road. When he’s not working, Sam enjoys reading Japanese novels and spending time in the woods with his twin sons, Tom and Joe. Sam currently works out of our Monroe and Silver Lake schools.
Susan Chadwick
Driving Instructor/master examiner
Susan is semi-retired and is looking forward to spending more time with her four children of and one granddaughter. Susan previously worked for the school district as a bus driver for 10 years before becoming a Student Driving Instructor and dol certified examiner. She also designs and produces her own jewelry for enjoyment. Susan works at our Sultan High School location.
Thomas Lee
Driving Instructor
Thomas has been a teacher for over twenty years, having taught various grade levels, and seven years of Community Adult School, he enjoys teaching very much and helping others become life-long learners. Thomas loves the energy he feels from the students' excitement of their opportunity to obtain a driver's license. In his spare time, Thomas enjoys sports activities, writing songs and stories, and of course, spending time with his wonderful wife and four children.
